We continue our walk along the path which runs level for a while. The next goal is the Fajã da Ovelha road and the church of the village. After the bridge on the glen we come to the short but steep climb up to the road. Nicelly decorated guidepost tells us the name of the Zimbreiros path. We can't hear the sighing voices of the ocean this far, but the great panoramic views to the Atlantic opens up on Fajã da Ovelha. If we choose downhill direction, we come to one of the viewpoints (Miradouro) of the village. There is a great view over the Paúl do Mar village all the way to the Jardim do Mar. You should drive there sometimes.
Anyway, now we are heading to Levada Nova. There is two directions to chose. We can follow the road on the right and soon we arrive to Paúl do mar/Porto moniz crossroads. From there we to the hotel-restaurant, which we saw earlier from the path. After that the road takes us back to Paúl do Mar.
Personally I preffer the road that continues straight uphill and leads to the church of Fajã da Ovelha. This uphill road is more steep, but so far we have used to it, aren't we.
CONTINUE THE ROAD STRAIGHT ON

The road to the right leads to the hotel/restaurant and back to Paúl do Mar. |
After few hundreds of meters, we come to the crossroad. Paúl do Mar right and Porto Moniz left.
It's the same road, we saw on the hillside, when we climbed up from Paúl do Mar. If we head to the Faja da Ovelha church, the right direction is Porto Moniz to the left. Soon after the tenniscourt on the right, there is a ramp to left and we are on the churchyard.
